Produced as part of the Health National Adaptation Plan (H-NAP)
| Advocacy brief
Overview
Increases in the severity and frequency of extreme weather events such as flooding, droughts and heatwaves, as well as changing rainfall patterns and higher temperatures, are already being experienced in Lao PDR. For example, it is estimated at least 40 000 people in the country will be exposed to flooding due to climate change by 2030. Climate-related health impacts in Lao PDR will increase significantly unless we change the way we manage them.
